Originally from New York, in 1996 I moved to Colorado and started having health issues. I gained a lot of weight and ended up having back surgery. My surgeon told me that the only way I was going to get better was to get into shape.
I lost my first 25 lbs. and joined a gym. Falling in love with Zumba helped my reach my goal weight and I was down 72 lbs. I was so excited about Zumba that I became an instructor.
Then I tried a Pilates class and saw changes in my body and strengthening in my core. My flexibility and stamina increased and I fell in love with a new workout routine. The owner saw my enthusiasm and asked me to become an instructor. In 2017 I got my certification and changed by college major to Public Health. Not only am I a Certified Pilates instructor, I am also TRX Suspension qualified.
